One good point of Whale Island is definitely in its underwater landscape, Vietnam starts to be a diving destination, and the diversities of coral as well as the other components of the submarine fauna, like nudibranches, contribute to the reputation of the place. It's a fine place for some barefoot living, with snorkeling, kayaking and windsurfing, and a pretty beachside setting. Finally, end your trip in  Vietnam’s most famous beach destination of Nha Trang.

The Adventure Cycling Trip, Day by Day.

Before entering the Adventure Cycling Trip, Green Horizon Tours’ guide will meet you at your hotels or  your dinner time to provide a short instructional briefing.

Day 1: Hue – Lang Co Beach – Hoi An Ancient Town, 140km distance &70km cycling – L,D.

Today is a classic day of cycling. Starting just outside of Hue and following the picturesque and very narrow peninsular road from Thuan An beach to Vinh Loc then Lang Co beach – one of the nicest beaches in Vietnam. Reward your hard work with a swim at Lang Co Beach and re-fuel with lunch as there is one more hill of the day - Hai Van Pass(25km & 600m above sea level). Challenging, yet manageable, this ride is full of breathtaking views. After the climbs well-earned descent, transfer the remainder of the distance by our support vehicle to Hoi An - a delightful old trading town and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Unwind over dinner and drinks or perhaps a traditional massage for sore muscles!  We’ll spent overnight in Hoi An, once a major Southeast Asian trading post in the 16th and 17th centuries, is basically a living museum that houses old-town architecture. Some notable heritage buildings include Chinese temples, a Japanese-designed bridge, pagodas, wooden shop-houses, French-colonial houses, and old canals. Although large-scale trading had long moved elsewhere, Hoi An has been successful in preserving and restoring its charming roots and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in December 1999. You will spent overnight in Hoi An.

Cycling distances given are entirely optional. The support vehicle will be available at any time.

Day 2: Hoi An – My Son Holy Land – Hoi An, 70km distance& 40km cycling – B,L.

Set out for a challenging ride from the outskirts of Hoi An on a quiet back road to the famous Cham Towers of My Son. My Son Holy land-a unique beautiful sanctuary world of the ancien Cham religion, was an imperial city during the Cham dynasty, between the 4th and 15th centuries, and more than 70 towers and temples remain rising majestically from the rice paddies. The ride is along Thu Bon River and  through a remote area where very few tourists venture, and surrounded by stunning views. You will arrive in My Son Holy land, where have many wonderful towers and enjoy a lunch time break in a local restaurant. After lunch, you’ll walk around the My Son Holy land to sightseeing. The Cham people originated from Indonesia and My Son was a religious centre between the 4th and 13th centuries and is located in a dense valley beneath Cats Tooth Mountain (Hon Quap). The Cham Kings were buried here from the 4th century onwards. Hidden by dense vegetation for many centuries the temples were re-discovered by a French archaeologist in the 1890s who located about 70 temples. American carpet bombing destroyed much of the area during the Vietnamese War but around 20 temples managed to survive the Yanks - even these few temples suffered some damage though. These Cham Temples were skilfully built using bricks however instead of mortar it is thought they used resin mixed with ground brick dust and mollusc shells so that there is only hairline gaps between the bricks. The variety of carvings were cut into the bricks themselves rather than being inserted - the carvings and relief's are of religious images dedicated to Vishnu and Shiva. After sightseeing we will transferring back to Hoi An for relaxing. You’ll stay overnight in Hoi An.

Cycling distances given are entirely optional. The support vehicle will be available at any time.

Day 3: Hoi An – Quang Ngai, 120km distance& 70km cycling – B,L,D.

After lunch, continue to cycle on the back roads of the coast and  cycle to the site of one of the darkest moments of the Vietnam War – the My Lai massacre where 504 locals died in 1968. After learning about Vietnam War at the Massacre Memorial, you will cycle on countryside road through many rice fields - It is harvesting time in this region so there is much activity in the rice fields, giving you an insight into the industrious lives of the local farmers. On arrival Dam Mon Harbour where we bigin to bike along coastline through White Sand Dunes and Shirm villages heading to highway No1 about 20km then short transfer to fishing village of Vinh Luong where you continue to bike around 30km more to Nha Trang - is possibly Vietnam’s most famous beach destination. Nha Trang itself is one of the larger cities in Vietnam, and Nha Trang Beach is a massive, miles-long stretch of white sand and clear turquoise waters. The beach is stunning. That, combined with Nha Trang’s popular nightlife scene, makes it a prime destination for both Vietnamese and international travelers. This also makes the beach rather crowded in high season though, so if you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing beach, Nha Trang probably isn’t your thing. On arrival Nha Trang Beach, our  cycling trip is finished.
